Mrs. Frank G. Fiedler 70, of 915 E. Highland died at Ottumwa Hospital at 7:45 Friday after a lengthly illness. A resident of Ottumwa for 47 years she had been prominent in church and club circles. Her husband is a well known retired Ottumwa businessman and civic worker. Sue Bedinger Fiedler was born in Butler Co., Ohio March 13, 1901, the youngest child of M/M Henry Clay Bedinger. She graduated from Cambridge High and Latin School in Boston in 1919, and from New England Normal School of Gymnastics in 1921.
She was the physical director of the Ottumwa YWCA in 1921 and 1922. She then went to Louisville, KY as a member of the YWCA physical education staff. The following year she was the teacher of physical education at KY College fo Women at Danville, KY.
She was married to Frank G. Fiedler in Decator, GA July 17, 1924. He survives as do two daughters; Mrs. Alice (Stanley) Haynes of Galesburg, IL and Mrs. Janet (Roy) Godecke of Gardnerville, NV., 6 grch, a sister and two brothers.
Mrs. Fiedler was an active member of First Presbyterian church and had just completed a three year term as an elder. She was also a member of Ottumwa Shakespeare Club of chapter HC, PEO and of the Mayflower Society of Iowa. She was a member of the Ottumwa Country Club and a golf enthusiast. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian church. Burial in Ottumwa cemetery. The body is at Jay funeral Home.
