He was the first president of the Wilcox & White Organ Co. and served on the board of directors of many other Meriden, Connecticut companies. He was mayor of Meriden for two terms (1875, 1876), and in 1877 was elected to the Connecticut State Senate. Married first to Charlotte Smith, who died in 1864, then to Ellen M. Parker. Son of Elisha B. and Hepsibah (Cornwall) Wilcox.
