He was mayor of Meriden for two terms (1875, 1876), and in 1877 was elected to the Connecticut State Senate. Married first to Charlotte Smith, who died in 1864, then to Ellen M. Parker. Son of Elisha B. and Hepsibah (Cornwall) Wilcox.
