KNOX - Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the William N. Rupert Funeral Home of Knox for Mrs. Nettie E. Pierce, 89, of Emporium, formerly of Nickleville.
Mrs. Pierce, widow of James O. pierce, died at 6:10 p.m. Monday in the Briarly Manor Nursing Home at State College.
Rev. James Mountain, a retired Presbyterian minister, will officiate. Interment will be in the Rockland Cemetery.
Mrs. Pierce was born August 16, 1877, in Rockland Township, Venango County, a daughter of John and Hannah Pryor Swain.
She was married in 1906 to James O. Pierce, who died March 7, 1964.
Mrs. Pierce was a member of the Nickleville Presbyterian Church. She had been a member of the Richland Grange.
Surviving are a son, Dr. Edward Pierce of Emporium; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Josephine) Ralph of Oil City and Mrs. Clovis (Claudia) Faivre of Reno; 3 grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Goldie Kretzler of Sewickley and Mrs. Ruth Karl of Mars.
Friends are being received in the funeral home.
