Mr. Clarence Harvey Slayton, Jr. (Buck) died peacefully in his home in Mount Airy, MD on July 24, 2012. He was born on March 8, 1913 and lived to be 99.He is survived by his wife, Dolores MacNair Slayton, his three children, Susan Meale, John Slayton and Elizabeth Slayton, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.As a lifetime historian, expert and lover of steam locomotives, Mr. Slayton was a past president and active participant in the Chesapeake Allegheny Live Steamers.Interment will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 1, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Main Street, Mt. Airy. A memorial service is being planned for September.Arrangement are by Stauffer Funeral Home, Mt. Airy. Online condolences may be expressed at: staufferfuneralhome.com
