William H. Wert, a retired farmer, died at 5 o'clock this morning on a Middlesex Township farm where he was born 88 years ago and lived all his life.

He was ill four days. The elderly farmer was a son of the late Jacob and Margaret Wert and attended the North Middleton Church of God.

Surviving are his wife, Florence Chambers Wert (NOTE: typed as written in newspaper); seven children, Margaret, at home; Mrs. Florence Chambers, Harrisburg; Mrs. Ruth Shughart, Carlisle R.D. 2; Earl, Carlisle R.D. 3; Clayton, Charles, both of Carlisle R.D. 2, and Jesse, Carlisle R.D. 5, and by 20 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 o'clock, 2 o'clock standard time in the J.R. Shulenberger parlors here. Burial will be in the North Middleton Church of God Cemetery. Friends may call tomorrow evening at the Shulenberger parlors.

William H. Wert, a retired farmer, died on Thursday morning at his home in North Middleton Township, Carlisle, R.D. 2. He was 88 years of age and was born and lived his entire life on the same farm. He was the son of Jacob and Mary (Brought (sic)) Wert. He was ill only four days.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sylvania (Bear) Wert, and seven children: Mrs. Florence Chambers, of Harrisburg; Earl, of R.D. 3; Clayton, of R.D. 2; Charles, of R.D. 2; Jesse, of R.D. 5; Mrs. Ruth Shughart, of R.D. 2; Margaret, at home. Twenty grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., standard time, from the J.R. Shulenberger funeral parlor. Burial will be at the Church of God Cemetery in North Middleton. Revs. W.C. Fortney and C.S. Messner will officiate. Friends may call this evening at the funeral parlor.

WERT FUNERAL

Services for William H. Wert, of Carlisle, R.D. 2, who died Thursday, were held this afternoon at the J.R. Shulenberger funeral home. Burial was in the North Middleton Church of God Cemetery. Rev. W.C. Fortney and Rev. C.S. Messner, officiated. The pallbearers were Elmer Hurley, Charles Long, John Stone, Warren Wickard, John Leib and Frank Weary.
