Sue L. Brinkmeier, 56, of Forreston died Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.
Sue was born May 3, 1954, in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Jacob J. and Dorothy (Bigwood) Geerts. Sue married David Brinkmeier on Nov. 24, 1973, in Pearl City.
She worked for Forrestville Valley School District many years as a teacher’s aide. She enjoyed being around kids, especially her nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Survivors include her husband, David Brinkmeier of Forreston; two brothers, Jake (Connie) Geerts of Baileyville and Bill (Crystal) Geerts of Pecatonica; also many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jon; and two nephews, Darrell and Richard.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 3, at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston. The Rev. John Tilstra will officiate. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her memory.
