Robert Allen Wier died during this decade leaving Josephine a widow.

1910 Justice Precinct 4, Blanco, Texas lists Josephine Wier age 56 widowed head of house, Herbert E Wier age 19, Laura E Wier 16.

1920 Justice Precinct 8, Houston, Texas lists Josephine Weir age 66, widowed, mother in law to head of house Thos Diggs.

1930 Precinct 4, Blanco, Texas lists Josephine Wier age 75 widowed, mother in law to head of house Melvin G. Rose.

The "San Antonio Express" newspaper, San Antonio, September 5, 1934, reported the following obituary from Blanco as of September 4, 1934:
Mrs. Josie P. Wier, 78, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. E. Trainer, Sunday. She moved here from Mississipp with her husband, the late Robert Wier, and her children in 1895. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Tom Diggs of Austin, Mrs. Jim Yancey, Mrs. G. E. Trainer, Mrs. M. G. Ross of Blanco; three sons, Armon of Johnson City; Bonn of Austin, and Herbert of Blanco and 25 grandchildren. Interment was in the Blanco Cemetery.
Her gravestone in the Blanco Cemetery, shows that she was born in 1855, and died in 1934. Her husband, Robert A. Wier, was born in 1855 and died in 1903 and was also buried in the Blanco Cemetery.
