Charley H. Rorar of Newburg, Aitch R.D., passed away at 7:45 o'clock Wednesday
evening, May 19, 1948, at the Frank Benson home at Newburg. Mr. Rorar and his
wife had been residing with the Bensons for several years.
He had been in ill health for some time.
Born on January 4, 1872, in Springfield Township, he was a son of John and
Charlotte (Locke) Rorar.
He was united in marriage with Mertie Lane.
Mrs. Rorar and these children survive: Alice (Mrs. T.A. Hill) of Philadelphia;
Anna (Mrs. J.E. Norton) of Lancaster; Veda (Mrs. William Sweigert) of Brooklyn,
New York; George, Samuel and Thomas Rorar, all of Wood.
Three sisters also survive: Mrs. Florence Kerling, Mrs. Ella McCoy and Mrs.
Lucinda Wilson, all of Three Springs.
Mr. Rorar was the last of seven brothers in the family.
For over fifty years the deceased was employed by the Rockhill Coal and Iron
Company. During that period the Rorars lived in Robertsdale and Wood.
Since his retirement Mr. and Mrs. Rorar had lived at Newburg.
The funeral service will be held at 2:30 o'clock on Saturday afternoon in the
Benson home. The Rev. Arthur Kerling will officiate and burial will be made in
the Newburg Cemetery. Friends may call at the Benson home after noon on Friday.
