Hazel M. Berns, age 89, formerly of 1925 N. 15th St., Manitowoc, died Sunday
afternoon, May 15, 1994, at St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 1994, at St. Mary's Home
Chapel, Manitowoc. Father Tom Wojciechowski, O.F.M. will officiate at the Mass
of Christian Burial and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
She was born Hazel Margaret Hagarty October 24, 1904, in Duluth, Minn., daughter
of the late Edward and Henrietta Hayes Hagarty. She married Harry F. Berns
October 22, 1923, in Duluth. The couple settled in Manitowoc after their marriage.
Mrs. Berns was a member of Holy Innocents Congregation and Christian Mother's
Altar Society. Mr. Berns preceded her in death December 12, 1959.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Bill Gretz, Racine,
Doris and Leon Jones, Manitowoc; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren,
nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, eight sisters
and a granddaughter, Laura Jones.
The family will greet friends at St. Mary's Home from 8 a.m. Wednesday until the
time of service.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
