Gordon Bentley, 56, of 1327 S. Ninth St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday afternoon at
University Hospital, Madison, where he had been hospitalized two and a half
weeks.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc,
the Rev. Gervase Zanotti officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Bentley was born Sept. 6, 1908, at Manitowoc, son of the late Walter and
Lillian Groll Bentley. He attended Manitowoc schools and married Helen Krenz
May 21, 1930, at Two Rivers. The couple always lived at Manitowoc. During World
War II he was employed by Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc., and in 1945 joined
Manitowoc Equipment Works as a dehydration operator.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 706 and the International
Association of Machinists, Lakeshore Lodge 2064.
Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Betty) Wolske, of Manitowoc,
a sister, Mrs. Golbert Zeman, of Manitowoc, two brothers, Bernie, of Manitowoc
and Walter Jr., of Whitelaw, a grandchild and nieces and nephews. Three brothers
preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday where memorial services
will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. by the Eagles Lodge.
