Dr. Frank V. Bender, 56, of 1133 Park Row Blvd., Manitowoc, died Sunday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. E. A. Radey will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Dr. Bender was born march 7, 1911, at Green Bay, son of the late Frank C. and Clara Van Kessel Bender. He attended Green bay elementary schools, St. Thomas Military Academy, St. Paul, Minn., University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Ind., and was a 1934 graduate of Illinois College of Podiatry, Chicago. He practiced at Atlanta, Ga., for 20 years before moving to Manitowoc in 1954.
Survivors include his wife, the former Dorothy A. Gibson, whom he married Oct. 7, 1944, at Green Bay; two sons, Frank Jr. and John, at home and a brother, Richard, of Green Bay. A sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call after 5 o’clock this Monday afternoon at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 o’clock this Monday evening.
