Mrs. Laura M. Beerntsen, 83, formerly of 2107 Markham St., and Parklawn Nursing
Home, Manitowoc, died Tuesday evening, March 18, at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The
Rev. Edmund Olson will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mrs. Beerntsen, nee Laura Wagner, was born Feb. 10, 1897, at Milwaukee, daughter
of the late Matt and Margaret Kaiser Wagner. She attended schools in the Milwaukee
area. She was a member and past president of American Legion Auxiliary of Manitowoc.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Ione Beerntsen and
Glen and Iva Beerntsen of Manitowoc; a daughter and son-in-law, Ollie and William
Schaus of Manitowoc; a brother, Raymond Wagner of Wauwatosa; a sister, Mrs. viola
Beil of Chippewa Falls; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A brother and
two sisters preceded her in death.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday
until the time of services. The American Legion Auxiliary will conduct a memorial
service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. A memorial has been established in her name.
