RICHARD H. BEDUHN (d. 1955)

Richard H. Beduhn, 61 (above), of 1321 S. 11th St., Manitowoc, a former sheriff,
died Thursday afternoon at the Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. He had been ill
for six months.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First German Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. L. H. Koeninger will officiate and burial
will be in Evergreen cemetery, Manitowoc.
He was born in Manitowoc May 24, 1894, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Beduhn
and on June 19, 1915, married Miss Alma Haarmann at Sheboygan. They located at
Louis Corners where he operated a general store and tavern until 1919 when they
moved to Manitowoc.
He was sheriff of Manitowoc County from 1927 to 1929 and also was a deputy
sheriff before and after his election. He was employed at the Rahr Malting Co.,
retiring last January because of failing health, and was a member of the Brewers
and Malsters union.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Harold of Green Bay; brother, William of Two Rivers;
and six grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Arlandt Luebke of Manitowoc, died two
months ago.
Friends may call at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, until 10 a.m.
Saturday when the casket will be moved to the church.
