Florence M. Beduhn, age 94, of 2112 Markham Street Manitowoc, died on Saturday morning, March 29, 2014 at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers. She was a lifelong resident of Manitowoc.
Florence was born on December 6, 1919, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Stanley and Edna (DePons) Pierce. She was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1937. After graduation she was employed in the Stenographic Department of the Aluminum Goods Mfg. Co. until her marriage to Daniel E. Beduhn on June 26, 1943. He was the son of the late Walter and Margaret (Siebenhorn) Beduhn of Two Rivers. Dan preceded her in death on January 3, 1983. Dan was Vice President of cranes at Manitowoc Company. Florence was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years, and was a member of the Ladies' Aid Society, and the Altar Guild. She was also a lifetime member and volunteer of Memorial Hospital in Manitowoc. Florence worked to "Save the Capitol Theatre" and did volunteer work there in both the theatre and office areas. Her active memberships and volunteer work included the Jr. Service League of Manitowoc County, and is currently an Associate Member of the Service League of Manitowoc. She, as well as her husband, Dan, was active members of Masquers for many years. Florence was a member of the Rahr-West Art Museum and the Lincoln Park Zoological Society.
Survivors include her two children: Jack (Rita) Beduhn of San Diego, CA., and Jill (Rudie) Bruss, Manitowoc; four grandchildren: Jeff (Jill) Bruss, Euless, Texas; Sarah (Derf) Reese, Green Bay; Anne Beduhn, Menifee, CA.; and Nick Beduhn, Cody, WY; Four great grandchildren: Emanual and Tazia Reese, Jaiden and Brandon Beduhn. Other survivors include her Sister-in-law: Clarissa Beduhn, Jonesboro, GA; nieces and nephews: Wendy Thornton, and Jerry Beduhn; Candace and David Beduhn, Dallas, TX; Ode (Suzanne) Herzog, Aiken, SC.
She was also preceded in death by her two sisters: Edith Buege and Pauline Herzog; three brothers-in-law: Ray Buege, Bert Beduhn and Charles Beduhn; one sister-in-law: Eloise Beduhn; one niece and her husband: Rayma and Don Coons; and a nephew Richard Herzog.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Zachary DeArmond with burial to be at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Redeemer Lutheran Church, (1712 Menasha Ave., Manitowoc) on Friday, April 4, 2014 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
