George L. Beck, 64, of 1609 S. 15th St., Manitowoc, died Sunday morning in Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Wed. in First Reformed United Church of Christ, Manitowoc. The Rev. William Schultz will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Beck was born July 31, 1914, in Manitowoc, son of the late George and Caroline Foerster Beck. He attended schools in Manitowoc, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1932. He married Margaret Barnstein Sept. 14, 1939, in Manitowoc. They resided in Manitowoc all their lives. Mr. Beck was employed by Manitowoc Shipyards during World War II and was also employed by Heresite Chemical Co., now known as Saekaphen Inc., as a shipping clerk from 1944 retiring in 1974. He was a life long member of First Reformed United Church of Christ. Mr. Beck was a past master of Manitowoc Masonic Lodge No. 65, F & A.M.; a past high priest of Manitowoc, Chapter No. 16; past thrice illustrious master of Manitowoc Council No. 18, R. & S.M.; past commander of Manitowoc Commandery No. 45; a member of The Knight of York Cress (sic) of Honor; a member of Tripoli Shrine of Milwaukee; and a member of Two Rivers/Manitowoc Shrine Club.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; two sons and daughter-in-law, Frederick and Judy Beck of Manitowoc, and Leonard Beck of Manitowoc; a daughter and son-in-law, Georgia and John Bachman of Denver, Colo.; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Winifred Beck of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Vivian Wilke of Manitowoc; a granddaughter; cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call in Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, until 11 a.m. Wednesday and in the church until the time of services. A Masonic memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
