Mrs. Richard Beaton, 61, of 1334 N. 10th St., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly
Friday morning at home.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Phipps Memorial Chapel of
First Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Gervase Zanotti will officiate
with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Beaton, nee Doris Plantico, was born Oct. 11, 1914, at Manitowoc, daughter
of the late Hugo and Helen Pankratz Plantico. She was educated at Manitowoc.
She was married to Richard Beaton Sept. 14, 1937, at Manitowoc, residing here
since. For a number of years she was employed as a nurses aide at Holy Family
Hospital. Mrs. Beaton was associated with and interested in Manitowoc Girl
Scouts for many years. She was a member of the Manitowoc Girl Scout Council,
First Presbyterian Church and Order of Eastern Star No. 196.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. David (Mary Ellen) Sampe, of
Mequon; a brother, Kenneth of California and two grandchildren, Pam and David
Sampe. A brother preceded her in death.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and
at the church from 10:30 a.m. Monday until the time of service. Memorials may
be made to Manitou Girl Scouts Council or First Presbyterian Church. The casket
will remain closed.
