Headstone indexed in February, 1956 by the Chief Tusquahoma Chapter DAR for the book, "Louisiana Tombstone Inscriptions: Volume I Ouachita Parish".

Nickname and place of death taken from the Louisiana State Death Certificate Index. His obituary can be found in the News-Star, August 18, 1937. It states he was born in Germany and came to the U.S. and settled in Texas at the age of 17. Fifty years later he came to Monroe.

He was married twice, his second wife being Mrs. Mattie Taylor, who survived him. Note: After research, it was found that his first wife was Mary Votaw Krauser, who died in Williamson County, TX in 1910. He was also survived by children Newton, Fred, Lee, Will, Martha Taylor, Sophie Bickham, and Mrs. Maggie Tweedle. His stepchildren were Wesley, Julius, and Allen Taylor, Mrs. Bertha Partin, Sallie Jenson and Mrs. Ella Carey.

Some websites suggest his middle name was Fritz.
