She was working in Montana when she was called home to Hughes County, South Dakota, for her sister, Lucille's ill health, and untimely death from breast cancer, Feb 1942. She remained to care for her sister's children, and in June 1950 married her sister's husband, Henrickus Geelka Krull, while visiting her parents and sister in Kingston, Washington.
