Mr. Anna was born September 29, 1918 in Pueblo, CO, the last of seven children of Otto and Helen Anna.
He went to grade and high school in Canon City, CO, and graduated from the Holy Cross Abbey. He completed a course in air conditioning, refrigeration and heating from the Industrial Training Institute, Chicago. In 1941 he married Rosemary Walker, who would remain his wife for 62 years until her death in 2003. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II, 1942 to 1945, as a refrigeration mechanic in Iran. After discharge from the army he and his family settled in Cheyenne where he worked for several appliance stores and then at F.E. Warren AFB as a refrigeration and air conditioning mechanic until his retirement in 1979. Earl was a long time member of the Refrigeration Service Engineer Society (RSES), VFW Post 1881, American Legion, and the American Federation of Government Employees Union (AFGE).
Earl enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church since 1945. Other activities included a square dancing club, volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and leader for two different Boy Scout troops.
Earl is survived by a son, Joe (Anne) Anna of Yakima, WA; three grandchildren; Allen Anna of Chandler, AZ; Wendy (Tim) Herby of Los Altos, CA; and Rosie (Steven) Russell of Yakima, WA; two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Rosemary, an infant son Ellis, three sisters and three brothers.
