Mr. Charles Wade Stowers, 79, of 22136 Dickerson Road, Dickerson, died Monday, Aug. 20, at Veterans Administration Center, Martinsburg, W. Va. He was the husband of Edna Warfield Stowers.
Born in Tazewell, Va., Mr. Stowers was a son of the late John and Ollie Leffel Stowers.
Mr. Stowers was a veteran of World War II and was retired from the State Road Department. He was a member of the [Turrence Oak Club?], Point of Rocks.
Surviving, besides his wife, are two sons, Charles Wade Stowers, Jr. and Thomas W. Stowers, both of Deale; five sisters, Mrs. Francis Lear of Vienna, Va., Mrs. Mattie Whipp and Mrs. Mary Moomaw, both of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Maggie Wright of Byrons Road, Md., and Mrs. Dorothy Ingerson, Concord, N.H.; one brother, John Stowers, Arlington, Va.; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Hilton Funeral Home, Barnesville, where services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23. Interment will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.
