Virginia was born September 12, 1927 in Miami, Oklahoma to Francis and Edna (Barger) Deems. She was a life long Miami resident. She worked for a number of years as a medical clerk at the Indian Clinic. Virginia had a positive outlook on life. This was shown with her quick wit and upbeat attitude. Virginia enjoyed reading her Bible and she was a long-time active member of the First Christian Church of Miami
In May 1953 Virginia married James Allen. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2007.
Virginia was also preceded in death by one daughter, Regena Lynn Smith; three brothers, Lloyd F. Deems, Mathew Deems, and Eugene Deems.
Survivors include one step-daughter, Jamesie Stell of West Hills, CA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service for Virginia will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2012 at the First Christian Church of Miami with Minister Leon Weece officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Abbey Cemetery east of Miami. Don Duniphin will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
