Axel George Anderson, age 71, a former resident of New Boston and lately of Slater, Mo., died at St. Joseph, Thursday, Nov. 22. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Nils Anderson, he was born in Chicago, Nov. 28, 1869. At an early age he came to New Boston, where he was reared and educated. He married Miss Nettie Joyce, and she passed away about 5 years ago. Then he went to Kansas City and there married Miss Catherine Johnson in 1912. That same year they moved to Slater, where he became a wood ill operator for the Chicago and Alton railroad. He worked at this for 19 years and then retired.

He is survived by five children by his second marriage: Mrs. Ralph McCorkle of Springfield, Mo., Clifton Anderson of Kansas City, Kathleen, Ralph and Leslie of the home; three children by his former marriage: Paul Anderson of Los Angeles, Mrs. H. C. Strup of Kansas City, and Melvin Anderson of Chicago; five brothers: Arthur of Kansas City, Herbert of Rockford, Ill., Julius of New Boston, Theodore of Bucklin and Jalmer of Chicago; one sister, Mrs. J. D. Mitchell of Callao; seven grandchildren.son of Nels and Johanna.
He and Nettie had 5 children.
