A service was held on June 18, 2012, at the Alaska Heritage Memorial Chapel. Mary was laid to rest next to her father Gene Nageak Kagak in Wainwright Alaska on June 22, 2012.
Mary came to Anchorage in August 2008 to be near family and achieved her goal to work for one of the Native Corporations. Mary loved to work, shop, camp and do anything with her family.
Mary is survived by her beloved companion James Moore, her Mother and step-father Linda and Walter Slater, and her three loving children Jonathan Gene Kagak, Kayla Joy Charters, and Marilyn Jewel Wallace. Her two brothers, Rodney(Mary Rae) and Mark(Leanna) Kagak. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins in Alaska, California, and North Carolina. Mary had many friends whom she worked with at ASRC Holding Company and NAPA Distribution Center, along with many friends.
