Abigail was born in Port Elgin, Bruce County in 1864 to parents George Whetstone (1846-1922) and Mary Abigail Schlicter (1844-1928).

She married George H. Meyer on Sep. 13, 1882 in Berlin, Waterloo County. Marriage Register #011612.

They raised 8 children in Ontario;

1. Alden Meyer 1883-1957.
2. Adeline Meyer (Bindernagel) 1885-1969.
3. Sylvester Mayer 1888-1970.
4. Eleanora Meyer 1889-
