James Bailey Brown, 87, of Gallatin, died at his residence of natural causes on Saturday, Sept. 10, 1983.
The funeral will be held today at 1 p.m. at Donoho-Legge-Newby Funeral Home with Dr. Harold Allen officiating. Burial will be at Gallatin City Cemetery. Grandsons Mike Brown, Ricky Brown, Larry Brown, Mark Brown, Nicky Brown and Jud Brown will serve as pallbearers.
A native of Tennessee, Brown was born Sept. 22, 1895 to James and Frances Brown. He was retired from the moving business.
Brown is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bessie Brown; three sons, Fowler Brown of Nashville, and William Earl and Bobby E. Brown both of Gallatin; one brother, Hersal Brown of Detroit, Mich,; one sister, Cassie Stout of Cookeville; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
