Death of Mrs. Fillbach, at Cobb
Correspondence of The Chronicle
The angel of death has again visited us. This time it has chosen as its victim our old and highly respected resident, Mrs. Catherine Henrietta Margerette Fillbach, who breathed her last on Saturday, Dec. 21, at the ripe old age of 73 years, 8 months and 9 days.
Deceased was born in the year 1816, at Nassau, Germany. In 1841 she was married to Mr. John Fillbach, with whom she lived happily until death separated them. In 1846 they emigrated to this country, locating at Jefferson this state; one year later they moved to Mineral Point where they resided for 13 years, when they moved to Otter Creek, and have resided in this county ever since. She was a devoted Christian for many years, being a member of the Presbyterian church.
She leaves to mourn her loss, besides her husband, four sons and two daughters; one son residing in Dakota, and one daughter at Fennimore; all the rest living in this vicinity.
She was buried in the ME Cemetery at this place on Monday, Revs. Merrifield of Linden and Walters of Pulaski, conducting the services and was followed to her last resting place by a large concourse of relatives and friends.
