Francis Holyoke "Frank" Betton was the grandson of Matthew Thornton, who played a key role in the creation of the United States of America. He was President of the convention that organized the government of New Hampshire in 1775; delegate from New Hampshire to Continental Congress in 1776; and signer of Declaration of Independence. “I claim admission to the Kansas Society of the Sons of the American Revolution.”
