Elmer Elsworth Angle, 78, was born in Petty Township, Lawrence County, Illinois, the son of Edward L. and Tura L. (Longnecker) Angle. He married Dianne Eckiss on September 1, 1961 and she survived him.

He graduated from Bridgeport Township High School in Bridgeport, Illinois in 1946. He was a Petty Officer 2st Class in the Navy during the Koran Conflict serving on the U.S.S. Pittsburgh in the Pacific.

He was employed by the Texaco Oil Refinery in Lawrenceville, Illinois, a member of the VFW, the Elks and was affiliated with the Birds Free Methodist Church in Birds, Illinois.

He loved baseball, basketball, football, fishing and hunting.

His survivors included a son, Steven Angle; a daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and James Bible; four grandchildren, Jared Childress, Alexus and Jimmie Bible and Britney Kelly; a sister, Verdene White and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, DeVere E. Angle.
