Harold T. Bachert Sr., 76, of Pine Grove, passed away Sunday at home. Born in New Ringgold, Aug. 22, 1935, he was a son of the late Carl and Esther Brobst Bachert.
Harold was a member of Hetzel's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove.He had been a truck driver and lifetime farmer.
Harold served with the 10th Transportation Company in the Army. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Motor Vehicle Driver's Badge (Wheel), Expert Badge (Carbine) and Sharpshooter Badge (Rifle M-1).
Harold was a life member of the AMVETS.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Rausch. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Nancy M. Wendling Bachert; four sons, Harold T. Bachert Jr., Pine Grove, Charles Bachert, Deer Lake, Ronald Bachert, Pine Grove, and Henry Bachert and his wife, Heather, Schuylkill Haven; a daughter, Carol Bachert, Pine Grove; two grandsons, Andrew and Joshua Bachert; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Bachert; two brothers, Clarence Bachert, Dillsburg, and Richard Bachert, Palmerton; an adopted son, George Filiash and his wife, Amanda, Pine Grove; an adopted granddaughter, Emma Filiash.
