Gertrude (Tjepkema) Kline, 75, 1706 Peirce St., died at 1:30 AM Sunday, July 23, 1967, in St. Elizabeth Hospital. She had been a patient there since May 19. Born in Chicago, she was reared in Lafayette and lived here most of her life. On June 29, 1916, she married Forrest Sylvester Kline, now a retired switchman for the Wabash Railroad. She attended First Reformed Church, and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Hope Chapter 5. Surviving with her husband are two sons, Forrest S. (Bud) Kline, Jr. of San Diego, CA; and Charles Kline of Lafayette; a daughter, Helen (Mrs. Daniel) Heindel of San Jose, CA; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services July 25 in Hippensteel Chapel, the Rev. Paul DeVries officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
