Arthur David Worthen, 85, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, died Sauturday, January 29, 1994, at the Davis Life Care Center, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Born in Grant County, on September 15, 1908, he was the son of the late Walter and Ada Tate Worthen.

He was reared and educated in Cedar Branch community. He moved to Pine Bluff in 1931.

Mt. Worthen married Jamie Ellen Taylor on October 3, 1931. She preceded him in death on January 17, 1991.

He was a tower man for the Arkansas State Forestry Services for 40 years, retiring in 1978.

He was a Baptist.

Mr. Worthen was also preceded in death by a son Phillip Worthen and two brothers: Houston Worthen and Leon Worthen.

Survivors include three sons: Benny Worthen and Bobby Worthen, both of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and Hollis Worthen of Abilene, Kansas, a daughter, Charlene Green, of Pine Bluff, and four brothers: Joe Worthen and Alver Worthen, both of Pine Bluff, Leland Worthen of Dallas, Texas, and D. L. Worthen of Sheridan, 11 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son Mortuary in Pine
bluff, conducted by Rev. Howard Loetscher and Ricky Andreas.

Burial was in Cypress Memorial Gardens, Hwy 15 South (Now Hwy 63)

Members of the Arkansas State Forestry Services served as pallbearers.
