Donald Ray Bloomquist 1944 ~ 2006 One of the Lord's choicest spirits Donald Ray Bloomquist son of Douglas JE Bloomquist and LaRue Dunn. Born October 1, 1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah returned home to our Heavenly Father, Nov. 2, 2006. He had a wonderful childhood growing up with four brothers. He was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at the young age of 17. After his graduation from South High School in 1963, he had lots of courage and faith. He was an active Elder in the LDS Church, had a special patriarchal blessing and was endowed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1967. With the help, love and understanding from a wonderful Bishop Bradford from Bountiful. He became a High Priest in the Bountiful East Stake in 2004. Donald was an avid reader, and was very knowledgeable about plants and animals and the great outdoors. He loved camping and traveling with his brothers, family and friends. Worked many years at doctors clinics with his father as a maintenance man. He also worked at a health food store and nursery. Everyone loved Donald and treasured their friendships with him. We will all miss his smile and his fun personality. Survived by his mother, LaRue; brothers, Johnny (Sue), Max (Sheri), Grant and Byron (Robin) and many special nieces and nephews. Services will be held Monday, Nov. 6, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bountiful 17th Ward Chapel, 2200 S. 600 E. Friends and family may visit Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 N. Main and Monday morning from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
