Wayne C. Sommer, 84, of Foosland died at 10 p.m. Monday (July 23, 2012) at Heartland Health Care in Paxton.

He was born March 25, 1928 in Foosland, a son of Nelson and Ella Kauffmann Sommer. He was preceded in death by his parents. He married Joanne Reber on Jan. 28, 1950 in Fisher. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Michael (Annette) Sommer of Foosland and Brad (Kathy) Sommer of Fort Wayne, Indiana; four grandchildren, Kristin (James) Scott, Trent (Chrissy) Sommer, Sarah Sommer and Matthew Sommer; three great-grandchildren, Karynne Scott, Gabrielle Scott and Berlynn Sommer; two brothers, Willis Sommer of Gibson City and Dean (Janice) Sommer of Foosland and a sister, Maxine Collum of Alabaster, Alabama.
