He was born October 10, 1917, in Boston, MA, the son of the late Walter F. and Caroline (Rankenberg) Bibber.
He was a long time member of the Gravel Hill United Methodist Church, Palmyra. He retired from Hershey Foods after many years of employment. Prior to WWII, James worked at the Boston shipyards as a welder and shipbuilder for the war effort. He left to enlist in the U.S. Army and served with General Patton's 3rd. Army, 95th Division in Europe. He enjoyed wallpaper hanging and carpentry throughout his life.
James is survived by two sons; James N. Bibber, Jr. and his wife Jean of Upper Darby, John W. Bibber and his wife Kay of Batavia, Illinois and a daughter Cynthia Diveglia and her husband Archie of East Berlin, a sister, Lois Jones of Hershey and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 4:00 PM from the Gravel Hill United Methodist Church, 131 Gravel Hill Rd, Palmyra, with Rev. Douglas E. Smith officiating. Burial will be at the Church Cemetery. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Lebanon Co. V.F.W. Honor Guard. There will be a viewing at the Church from 3:30 PM until the time of the service. Feiser Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.
