Sarah McClellan was born in Greene Co., Penn., Sept. 19, 1803. She removed to Athens County, Ohio, in 1851, where she became a member of the Christian Church. She heard frequently the preaching of Alexander Campbell. In 1865 she came with her family to Kansas, where she lived until her death. She died at the residence of her son, John A., in Willis, Brown County, Kansas, Jan. 7, 1892., of la grippe, aged 88 years, 3 months and 18 days. Her Christian profession was never forsaken. In the hope of the Gospel of Christ, she has gone to her reward.

Life's crown well won."
Of eleven children, three sons remain: John A., James W., and Dorsey.
Funeral exercises were conducted by the writer, in the Christian Church, Satuday, Jan. 9, at 1, p.m. The remains were laid to rest in the Troy Cemetery.
May the mourners await in heaven's comfort the great family re-union of the last day.
