Mrs. Elva H. Krainik, age 88, formerly of 1013 S. 16th St., Manitowoc died Sunday afternoon, March 20, 2005 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral service will be held at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at the Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 1122 S. Eighth St., Manitowoc. The Rev. Richard Klingeisen will officiate with burial of her cremated remains at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Elva was born Dec. 13, 1916 at Manitowoc, daughter of the late John and Emma Hackman Meurer. She grew up and was educated at Manitowoc and married Alvin A. Krainik on June 5, 1937 at Menominee, Mich. Alvin preceded her in death in 1971. Elva was employed at Aluminum Specialty for many years retiring in 1978. Elva enjoyed homemaking, taking care
of grandchildren, crocheting and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Survivors include a son: John Krainik, Manitowoc; a daughter: Lynn (John) Strauss, Manitowoc; grandchildren: Debra (Scott) Zube, West Allis; John (Brenda) Krainik, Manitowoc; Kathy (Kevin) Schroeder, Manitowoc; Terry (Jodi) Strauss, Manitowoc; Lisa (Kevin) Ryder, Whitelaw; Shane Strauss, Manitowoc; Kim Strauss, Manitowoc; Becky (Ryan) Belinske, Manitowoc; great-grandchildren: Taylor Zube, Danielle Zube, Tara Schroeder, Colten Schroeder, Lauren Krainik, Travis Ryder, John Dennis Ryder and Brady Strauss; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Alvin, Elva was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law: Judith Krainik; a sister: Emma Lou Schuh; and a grandson: John Dennis Strauss.
Relatives and friends may call from 9 a.m. Wednesday at Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory until the time of service at 11:15 a.m. The family would like to thank the staffs at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center and the third floor at St. Mary Home for their care and concern during Mother's stay.
