Sally Ann was the daughter of William A. Rector and Mary Ann Potter. Sally's family travelled to California in the late 1840's. They settled in Napa, where Sally Ann met Grandville W. Grigsby and they were married. After the death of her father-in-law, the family moved to the San Luis Obispo area, and lived near her brother in Santa Margarita. Her brother's property was sold and is now at the bottom of Santa Margarita Lake. Sally Ann died in 1883 and is believed to buried near her husband.
