He was born about 1744 according to the Oswald book in Lynn Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. He actually died in Lynn Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania because Lehigh County wasn't created till 1812.

An Administrative Bond was found for Daniel in the Archives in Forks Township, Northampton County along with other paperwork. Lynn Township was part of Northampton County at the time of Daniel's death and paperwork was filed October 17, 1803 by Catharine Oswald, widow and John Oswald, son of Daniel Oswald, late of Lynn Township, along with Philip Moser and Jacob Oswald, both of Lynn Township. His death could not be in 1805 as this memorial previously had listed since his bond was filed in 1803 after he died. Most likely he died in September or October of 1803 but the Oswald book does not give a precise date. DAR records list 1805 but I am not sure where that information was taken from for the record.

His wife was Susannah Catharina Everett. They were married in 1764.
Marriage - 27 May 1764 • Lynn Township, Northampton, Pennsylvania

When I received a transfer of Daniel's memorial in 2020, the burial location was listed as unknown. The Oswald book lists he was buried in either Jacob's Union or Ebenezer Parish Cemetery, no source given for those choices. I chose Ebenezer Parish but he could have been buried on his farm or at Jacob's Union so there is no clear-cut answer on his burial location. He was listed as a Farmer, German Reformed; & Tory(although that changed in time) The book lists the following children, John, Daniel, Jacob, David, Jonathan, Magdalena, Elizabeth, Catharine, Susannah, Maria & Barbara.

Besides the inventory which was in German since these were the original papers, was the final accounting paperwork filed by Catharine and John Oswald in Feb. 14, 1805. There was also a petition filed by John Oswald in 1805 in Orphans Count of Northampton County regarding the partitioning of the land of the late Daniel Oswald by an Inquest of the court. Daniel Oswald, the second son, had accepted his portion. John requested the court to direct citations against the other heirs and representatives as listed, Daniel Oswald, guardian of David Oswald, David Moser, guardian of Jonathan Oswald, Daniel Moser and Magdelena his wife, Philip Moser, and Elizabeth, his wife, David Moser and Catharine, his wife, Peter Lichtenwalter and Susanna, his wife, Daniel Oswald, guardian of Maria Barbara Oswald and David Moser, guardian of Catharine and Daniel Moser, the children of Anna Maria Moser, late of John Moser, deceased as to why they should not accept their portion of the estate.
