H. BAUKNECHT LIFE RESIDENT IS STRICKEN
Pioneer Drayman of City Dies Without Warning
Henry Bauknecht, a resident of Manitowoc county since birth, 73 years
ago and for many years engaged in the draying business in the city, died
suddenly at his home 1502 So. Tenth street last night. Mr. Bauknecht, a
victim of heart trouble, fell in death as he was leaving his bed to
summon his wife when he felt ill. He was dead when Mrs. Bauknecht reached
his side.
News of the death was a shock Mr. Bauknecht having been in his usual health
yesterday and at his duties at the plant of the Aluminum Goods company and
during the evening had not complained of illness. His death occurred about
1:30 this morning.
Decedent was born in this county in November 1851 and had always made his
home here. He is survived by his wife and five children, Mrs. John Schaeffer
and Mrs. Ben Hanson, this city, Arthur Bauknecht, Sebring, O., Albert of
Milwaukee and Frank of Two Rivers. There are sixteen grandchildren also
surviving.
The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. A.R.E.
Schreiber officiating.
