Ray J. Bauer, 73, of 2122 LaFollette Ave., Manitowoc, died early Saturday morning in Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday in Schneider-Mittnacht Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Leo Schmitt will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Bauer was born July 22, 1904, in Manitowoc Rapids, son of the late Peter and Ida Coutley Bauer. He was educated in Manitowoc area schools. He was employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc. for 43 years, retiring in 1969. He married Clara Leick Sept. 24, 1940, in Greenleaf. Mr. Bauer was a member of Boilermakers Union 443 and Holy Innocents Parish.
Survivors include his wife; two sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Debra Bauer of Milwaukee and Dick and Kris Bauer of Manitowoc; two brothers, Reinhart and Victor of Manitowoc and four grandchildren, Melissa, Samantha, Melonia and Andrew Bauer. A brother and three sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Schneider-Mittnacht Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday where a prayer service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m.
