Mrs. Ernest Baskin (sic), 71, of 851 North18th street died Tuesday night at
her home following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Immanuel Evangelical
Lutheran church, the Rev. Theophil Uetzmann officiating. Burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Baskin, nee Sophie Ploeckelman, was born in Gibson in 1878 and in 1898
was married in Ernest Baskin. They operated a farm in Clover for 38 years and
then moved to Arizona here they resided for 10 years. The couple came to the
city about two years ago. Mrs. Baskin was a member of the Ladies Aid society
at the Immanuel church.
Survivors are the husband; two daughters, Mrs. Roland Mitchel of Tempe, Ariz.,
and Mrs. Ed Stastny of Manitowoc; brother, William of Manitowoc; sister, Mrs.
Ida Rumph of Kossuth; one grandchild and one great grandchild.
Friends may call at the Pfeffer funeral home from 2 p.m. Friday until 10:30 a.m.
Saturday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until the
time of service.
