Eugene Bartelme, 75, of 911 N. 22nd St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday at Park
Lawn Nursing Home, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Innocents Catholic
Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Leo Schmitt will officiate and burial will be
in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Military graveside services will be
conducted by the American Legion Drews Bleser Post No. 88.
Mr. Bartelme was born April 25, 1897, at Cooperstown, son of the late John
and Nora Scanlon Bartelme. He was educated in Cooperstown schools and
attended Whitewater State College. He and his brother, Ben, operated
Bartelme's Food Market from 1931 until retiring in 1965.
He married Ruby Fiedler at Green Bay. He was a member of Holy Innocents
Parish and Usher Club and Holy Name Society of the church and a member of
American Legion-Drews Bleser Post No. 88. He served in World War I.
Survivors include his wife, a son, Richard, of Shaker Heights, Ohio, a
brother, Leo, of Wilmar, Minn., three sisters, Mrs. Frances Wellner, of
Denmark, Mrs. Josephine Kriwanik, of Green Bay and Mrs. Gordon (Monica)
Francke, of North Hollywood, Calif., and three grandchildren. Four brothers
and two sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Schneider-Mittnacht Funeral Home, Manitowoc, between 4
and 9 p.m. Thursday where prayer service wil lbe held at 8 p.m.
