Age 84, died at 4 p.m. Tuesday. She was born March 18, 1895 in Manitowoc, where she resided most of her life. Mrs. Bartanen was a teacher for the Manitowoc School system for 25 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Appleton, and the Daughters of Isabella. Survivors include a brother, Vernon Houghton, Madison; a sister, Mrs. Stanley (Mary) Grienier, Appleton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Seth, in 1961 two brothers and two sisters. The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Wilbert Staudenmaier officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Friends may call at the BRETTSCHNEIDER-TRETTIN Funeral Home from 8:30 a.m. Thursday until the cortege leaves for the church.
