Mrs. Blanche Barta Simons, 67, of 1107 S. Eighth St., Manitowoc, died Sunday
at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. James Episcopal Church,
Manitowoc, the Rev. William Harvey officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery.
She was born Feb. 19, 1891, at Manitowoc, daughter of the late Frank and
Catherine Krainik Barta. On July 23, 1919, she was married to Harvey Simons.
The couple moved to Lodi, and operated a furniture store and funeral home until
Mr. Simons death in 1948. Mrs. Simons moved back to Manitowoc in 1950. For the
past four months she had been making her home with a sister, at 509 St. Clair
St.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. George M. Fechter and Mrs. Joseph Kaize,
Sr., of Manitowoc and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Jens Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Tuesday until 12:30 p.m.
Wednesday, when the body will be moved to the church to lie in state until the
hour of service.
