Mrs. Joe (Pauline C.) Balik, 67, of 920 Rosemere Circle, Manitowoc, died
Wednesday, February 17, 1988 at her residence. Funeral services will be 1 pm
Saturday at First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Richard Lind will officiate
with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Balik was born August 2, 1920 at Bemidji, Minnesota, daughter of the late
Emil and Olina Larson Berg. She graduated from Bagley High School and Bemidji
Business College. Mrs. Balik worked many years as a legal secretary for several
different lawyers. She married Joe A. Balik on December 27, 1942, at Hattiesburg,
Mississippi. Mrs. Balik was a member of First Lutheran Church, Church's Altar
Guild and Naomi Circle. She was past president and secretary of the Local American
Cancer Society Chapter. Mrs. Balik was president and organizer of Manitowoc Mobile
Meals and was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post Number 16. She also did
volunteer work for Manitowoc City Hall and Park Lawn Home.
Survivors include her husband, Joe, a daughter, Paula Balik of San Antonio, Texas;
a brother and sister-in-law, Joe and jay Berg of Manitowoc; an aunt, Mollie Haugen
of Manitowoc, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends survive.
Friends may call at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, 5 pm to 8 pm Friday and
Saturday from 9 am to 11 am and then at the church from 12 noon until the hour
of service. Memorials would be appreciated to American Cancer Society or Manitowoc
Mobile Meals.
