DEATH SADDENS BALGE HOME IN DEMISE OF SON
Death’s visitation has shadowed the home of Mr. and Mrs. Balge, 1128 So.
Thirteenth street in claiming their son, Melvin, aged 12 years who passed
away yesterday after an illness of three weeks, death being due to paralysis
of the heart following a severe illness from diphtheria. The malady left the
boy in a weakened condition and he was unable to fight the fatal attack. The
lad was born in this city May 21, 1910 and attended the Lutheran School.
Besides his parents, three brothers survive, Norman, Dalman and Lyle.
The funeral will be held from the home Thursday afternoon, the Rev. Machmiller
officiating.
