LAVINA BALGE

Mrs. Richard Balge, 77, former Manitowoc resident, who had been residing with
her son, Norman, in Milwaukee, died Wednesday night at Mt. Sinai Hospital,
Milwaukee, following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First German Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. L. H. Koeninger will officiate and burial
will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born Lavina Haase in New London, Wis., in 1875, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
John Haase. A few years later they moved to Two Rivers. She was married to Balge
in Manitowoc in 1903 and after a year’s residence in Two Rivers, moved to
Manitowoc. He died 28 years ago. For the past three years Mrs. Balge had been
residing with her son in Milwaukee.
Survivors are three sons, Norman of Milwaukee and Delmer and Lyle of Rt. 1,
Manitowoc; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Meihsner of Manitowoc, Mrs. Jacob Berg of
Bethlehem, Pa., and Mrs. August Clare of Milwaukee; and six grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 2 p.m.
Friday. The casket will be moved to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday.
