EMMA H. BAILEY

Miss Emma Hart Bailey, 85, of 622 North Sixth street, one of whose
ancestors, John Hart, was a signer of the Declaration of Independence
on July 4, 1776, died this noon.
Miss Hart, who was born in Ohio, came to this city from Indiana 12
years ago to make her home with a half-sister, the late Mrs. William
VandeGrift. Survivors are a niece, Mrs. George Nelson; and two nephews,
John and William VandeGrift, all of this city.
Funeral services, which will be private, will be held Monday at 2 p.m.
from the Vogelsang funeral home, South Eighth street. Interment will
be in Evergreen cemetery.
