WINIFRED BAECKMAN
Mrs. August Baeckman, 80, of 516 N. Fourth St., Manitowoc, died Saturday at
Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc, after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, the Rev. Gervase Zanotti officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery.
Mrs. Baeckman, the former Winifred Houghton, was born Sept. 30, 1885, at
Manitowoc, daughter of the late Elijah and Mary Jones Houghton. Her husband
died in 1933. She was a member of the Lois Society of First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by two sons, Bernard and Francis, of Manitowoc and two daughters,
Miss Irene Baeckman, of Manitowoc and Mrs. Donald (Ruth) Cyr, of Richfield, Minn.,
a sister, Mrs. Blanche Serles, of Milwaukee and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Fist Presbyterian
Church and Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
