Francis Baeckman, 72, of 516 N. Fourth St., Manitowoc, died Saturday evening,
October 11, at Holy Family Hospital.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Alfred Klumb will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Baeckman was born April 13, 1908, at Manitowoc, son of the late August and
Winifred Houghton Baeckman. He grew up and was educated in Manitowoc schools
and was employed with Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc., retiring in 1968.
Survivors include a brother, Bernard A. Baeckman of Manitowoc; a sister and
brother-in-law, Ruth and Donald Cyr of Milwaukee; two nieces, Mrs. John (Patricia)
Sykora of St. Charles, Ill., and Mrs. Dennis (Nancy) Stein of St. Paul, Minn.,
a nephew, Francis Cyr of East Troy, Wis., and grand nieces and nephews. Two
brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home 4 o'clock to 9 o'clock this
Monday afternoon and Tuesday until the time of service.
